Springfield Clinic Lab Facility

M/E 1 provided mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineering services for the ground-up 20,000 SF, Lab Facility with 7,000 SF, 3-lane drive-through. This central lab facility will serve multiple Springfield Clinic facilities with micro-molecular, histology and central lab functions. Drive-through lanes allow serve the public and allow for immunizations, blood-draw, and other services without the need to leave their vehicles. The lab will open in the Fall of 2023.M/E 1 was part of an integrated project delivery team with Springfield Clinic, Farnsworth Group architects, HERA lab designers, O’Shea Builders, and sub-contractors. This collaborative approach used lean construction methods and allowed for faster delivery time, improved coordination, minimal RFIs, and reduced lead times on critical equipment during times with supply chain problems.
